Literally awful. Extremely slow, workers are rude, and obviously understaffed. I’m in the cafeteria (where I waited 15min just for someone to take my order and another 10min waiting for the cashier.) and I hear two employees talking about quitting and complaining about their job. I’m only 19 and I understand some people don’t like their jobs, but how unprofessional do you have to be to talk about quitting with people around? I rather drive to a hospital in jersey and risk death, then come here ever again. Please make the drive to Pocono Medical where you will actually get attention. If you truly have an emergency steer clear of here! For the love of god, for your own health.
Everything went smoothly when I arrived. They came and did all the xRays they needed to, the night I got there I needed to stay overnight. The first night was fine but I had to ask several times if I can receive a medication for my allergies that's already in my records for me to take. I went the whole night extremely congested and not able to breathe. I had to ask the new nurse in the morning if I can receive something and I finally got a medication. A lot of the nurses were nice and checked up on me but since I was there for a few days and moved upstairs for my own room. Some nurses didn't come and check up on me at all unless I called and I understand they get busy. It's now my second almost 3rd day there and I still never received my test results on my CAT scan I asked multiple people and the next day a doctor finally came in to answers all my questions that should've been answered days ago from a doctor when I first got the CAT scan. When I finally got discharged I found out by the papers not by a doctor or nurse what I was actually diagnosed with. It was a constant different answer of what I had because they were just uncertain even with all the test results done. Along with that someone in the middle of the night at 4AM changed my diet without telling me I found out when I tried to order my meal instead from whomever changed it, so when I tried to order a meal I could basically not eat anything when I shouldn't have been on a diet at all. The plus side all the doctors, some nurses, and housekeepers were nice. And the food was good. Overall, very upset about my stay.
Was the worst experience ever... You go to the ER because you’re sick... Here they ignore you and give you medication you’re allergic too! It states right on my chart I am allergic, yet the ER Doctor gave me it anyways... When I told the nurse I was allergic and can’t take it she told me to go to my family doctor... Um if I could if I would have, I came to you for help... Not to make me worse! Keep your family safe and away from this ER... They could careless!
After spending 7 hours in your hospital just for an ultrasound, I will not be returning. I was astonished to hear nurses speaking negatively about patients. In my opinion, your staff should be doing everything in their power to make guests feel safe and comfortable. It’s not a girls day so I don’t understand why I heard so much gossip about patients. I saw more nurses eating and goofing around than actually working. This may be a brand new hospital but it’s in desperate need of improvement.
When the Monroe Campus first opened it was awsome. Not so much now. My sister was brought into the er on 12/18. Dr. On call was great. Sister was admitted and finally moved to a room on the 2nd floor appt 24 hours later. On 12/24 she was moved to ICU/CCU. Since on this unit my sister has been ignored. Call bell not answered, needed a cath put in took all day for that to happen. Asked for a cup of ice. Waited 45 minutes and was finally brought ice when my niece went out to the nurses station to request the ice again and the staff were just standing around talking and laughing. They eventually brought the ice. Another patient down the hall was screaming for a nurse for quite awhile and he was ignored while they were just standing around. My sister is obviously very sick and that is why she is in ICU and you would think that she would be getting better care. One nurse even went so far as to tell her “if you don’t like it here then I will bring you the papers to sign your self out and you can go home!!!” My sister is septic diabetic and oxygen low. I expect better care for her. Granted you may be short staffed but there is no excuse for the treatment and nasty attitude that these patients are receiving. I also work in a treatment center and we are short staffed, however, patients are always treated with respect by ALL staff. Patient care at your hospital is appalling. So disappointed with the staff in the ICU. Also my sister asked for a bed pan and the aide refused to get for her so she urinated all over herself and got urine in her wounds. That is not okay!!!
